HISTORY

The subject Economics was started as compulsory subject from the very inception of the college, i.e.1986. Initially the classes were started by Dr. Rofique Ahmed, a well known academician, researcher and author of number of books presently working as Associate Professor at Bahona College, Jorhat. He was accompanied by Mr. Chattadhar Borah, subject teacher of Gargaon HS School, Sivasagar. The concerned University accorded permission to start this subject as general standard at first.
